  • What Happened?!

    The summer’s transition to fall seems like it happens faster every year.  As cooler temperatures prevail so do the darker, heartier beers on our taps.  We recently had a tap takeover with Founders Brewing Co which featured the legendary Kentucky Breakfast Stout that emptied 57 minutes after being tapped.  The lineup included other fantastic beers like Dark Pennance, Harvest and Breakfast Stout.  Be sure to checkout our  upcoming events!

Beer Pairing Guide

Beer and food is a match made in heaven, but not all beer does not go with all food. Let’s start with your favorite beer and learn what it’s excellent food counterpart is.

Stout

Deep and smooth, dark roasted malt makes this a great refresher to cleanse very saucy foods from the pallet, prepping you for the next bite.

 

Irish Corned Beef

BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich

Pilsner

Light Bodied, and refreshing. This beer is gently hopped with German or Czechoslovakian hops with a light malt flavor. It’s best served with lighter foods such as fish or chicken.

Pale Ale/India Pale Ale

First brewed for British trade ships to have a sustainable beer using hops as a preservative. This beer tends to hold strong aromatics and bitter flavors from the hops. Best paired with spicy or sweet foods.

Cajun Salmon

Though only a style of brewing that uses bottom fermenting yeast. Lagers tend to have a very clean and crisp taste that Americans have grown to love. A lighter beer that deserves works well with lightly flavored foods.

Commonly these types of brews can overpower some foods, so it’s best to have a meal that is beer forward and food second. Lightly fried dishes such as Fish and chips are a good backseat.
